Build the Day Away

Children of all ages are welcome to attend the Build the Day Away event at the Fort Belvoir Library today, 1-4 p.m. The event is free and will feature Legos, Duplo Legos, K’nex, Brain Builders and Keva Planks. Jeff Todd Highway Clean Up

The biannual Jeff Todd Highway Clean Up at Fort Belvoir is April 27, 8-10:30 a.m. Volunteers meet in the Candlewood Suites parking lot at 7:30 a.m. to receive assignments, garbage bags, snacks and bottled water. Relaxation and Stress Relief Workshop

ACS offers a free Relaxation and Stress Relief workshop, May 8 and Aug. 14, 6-7 p.m., to help participants identify stressors, understand the impact of poorly managed stress, find the link between stress, anger and other emotions, and understand stress as a necessary component of life. New York City Day Trips

Leisure Travel Services has day trips to New York City on May 18, July 20, Sep. 21, Nov. 16, and Dec. 14. You’re guaranteed six hours of free time upon arrival. The cost is $60 per person. Tree Planting Event

Natural resource specialists will be planting trees to increase forest cover in the Forest and Wildlife Corridor. Trees will be planted next to the National Guard building, today from 9 a.m. to noon. Gloves will be provided to those who register. Volunteers will meet in the National Guard parking lot across from the old amphitheater.
