Flu Vaccine delayed at FBCH

Due to a delivery delay of vaccine, the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital Flu Clinic and satellite Family Health Centers at Fairfax and Dumfries are postponed. New York City Day Trips

Leisure Travel Services provides day trips to New York City. Upcoming trip dates are Nov. 16, and Dec. 14. Patrons are guaranteed six hours of free time on the ground to tour the “Big Apple”. Transitioning Service members

The Army Soldier for Life Office and Department of Defense launched the SkillBridge website. The DOD SkillBridge program helps Service members gain civilian work experience through industry-specific training, apprenticeships, or internships during their last 180 days of military service. Pumpkin IllumiNIGHT

FREE pumpkin carving for kids, Saturday, 2-4 p.m., at a local business, located at 7310 Beulah St., Alexandria. Pumpkins and kid-safe tools are provided. Later that night, the pumpkins are lit up for families to drive by to see and take pictures.

Operation Sugarplum open

Each year, Belvoir’s Army Community Service, community donors and sponsors partner through Operation Sugarplum to help Service members and their families with financial support during the holidays. Operation Sugarplum is open until Nov. 15 to E1-E5 with at least one family member, 18 or younger, living with the sponsor.

The Service or Family member must attend at least one Financial Seminar at ACS. Classes are Nov. 7, 13, 14, 21 and 22, in Bldg. 1263, 5965 6th St.

Register through ACS, 571-231-7001. Operation Sugarplum and Project USO Elf offer holiday assistance programs. To ensure all eligible families who need help get it this holiday season, applicants may participate in only one program.
