Powder Puff Game

Come out and watch the 2018 Powder Puff Flag Football Game on Wednesday, 7 p.m. on Graves Fitness Center Field, 2116 Abbott Road. Fort Belvoir's Family Advocacy Program Powder Puff Game is dedicated to educating the community on ways to "intercept" Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. FMI, 571-231-7016. 

Financial aid workshop

ACS Financial Readiness Program offers a college financial aid workshop and information session, 1-4 p.m. Oct. 18 at Army Community Service. The hands-on workshop provides the tools and techniques to minimize errors and complete the FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FMI, Financial Readiness, 571-231-7001. 

Meet the command team

The Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce hosts a Meet the New Garrison Command Team event, Oct. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at The Fairfax, 9140 Belvoir Woods Parkway, near Lorton. People can meet Col. Michael Greenberg, Belvoir Garrison commander; and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Corey Perry. 

 

Legends of Halloween: Haunted House 

Belvoir MWR and Gravensteen Haunted Productions presents Legends of Halloween, a haunted house on Belvoir, Fridays and Saturdays in October and Oct. 30 and 31. 

The Haunted House is in Bldg. 1822, 6021 Abbott Road. One eligible DoD ID cardholder is required per vehicle entering Belvoir for this event and there is no limit to the amount of guests each eligible ID card holder can bring. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Due to the "fright factor," the haunted house isn’t recommended for kids younger than 10. 

There is a special “lights-on trick-or-treat” for younger children, 2-5 p.m. Oct. 27, for $5 per child.
