Annual church country fair

The 73rd Annual Pohick Church Country Fair is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The outdoor fair includes historic Colonial church tours; organ concerts; booths; free children’s games; pumpkin painting; smoked pork barbecue; funnel cakes; homemade apple butter; and live music.

Pohick Church is at 9301 Richmond Highway in Lorton, on U.S. Route 1 between Telegraph Road and Pohick roads.

Thrift Shop changes

Due to a staffing shortage, the Belvoir Thrift Shop is only open 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays, and Oct. 6, until further notice. Consignments are closed until further notice, but donations are still accepted.

The shop has an immediate opening to hire a qualified military ID card holder. Applications are available from the shop’s consignment area, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday.

Science story time

Join the library for its Science-Themed Story Time Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., for kid’s 5 and younger. The free event includes books, crafts and activities dealing with light and sound waves. Science-Themed Story time is on the last Tuesday of every month. 

Spouse networking

The USO Warrior and Family Center on Fort Belvoir hosts a Networking Event for Military Spouses, Oct. 4, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The event is a chance to make new connections, meet community partners, practice your elevator speech and more.

Chapel service change

Beginning Oct. 7, the Chapel Next Worship Services at Woodlawn Chapel will begin at a new time, 9:30 a.m., a half hour earlier than before.
