True to historic form, Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s male and female swimmers turned in excellent performances across the spectrum of events to best Defense Logistics Agency and claim the FY18 intramural swim meet title—it’s 12th in as many years.
Dominating the event—which included individual medley, freestyle, breast stroke, back stroke, butterfly and relay—DTRA moved into a solid second place in the overall Commander’s Cup rankings.
However, DLA’s runner-up finish enabled the powerhouse unit to clinch the FY18 Commander’s Cup, now holding 182 total points—a tally that would be impossible for any other contender to catch, even with perfect performances at the forth coming season-ending cross-country race.
Nearly 200 athletes and spectators crowded the Benyaurd facility to witness the showdown between the “Big Four” and cheer their fellow Service members and civilian athletes on throughout the critical contest.
