Barracudas youth basketball tryouts
Tryouts for the 2018 – 19 FCYBL season run Tuesday – Oct. 12 and Oct. 15 - 19 All players wishing to try out must be present for all tryout sessions.
(Exceptions: any players that are actively participating in another sport (i.e. football, fall baseball, soccer.) Those exempted players must make three days of tryouts to be evaluated by a coach to participate in the Barracudas basketball program.
Coaches’ selection day session: all players trying out for the teams must make the last day of tryouts, which is Oct. 19. Players should bring no basketballs to the gym for tryouts.

Breast Cancer Awareness 5K
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. MWR and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital invite the Belvoir community to a 5K, Oct. 20 to raise awareness of breast cancer and show support for those affected. Breast cancer affects more than 200,000 patients annually, and early detection is an important element of improving survival.
The race starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends with a FBCH presentation. The race starts and finishes at the main hospital campus.
There will be awards for best dressed, fastest stroller and best group turnout.
Eligible participants include active-duty military, DoD civilians, retirees, and family members.

Turkey Trot 5K/10K
The annual Turkey Trot 5K/10K is Fort Belvoir’s premier race of the year and is Nov. 17. The race starts at 9 a.m. and ends with an awards ceremony at about 10:30 a.m., at 14th Street and Middleton Road.

The cost is $20 in advance and $30 on run day. Eligible participants are active-duty Soldiers, Mobilized/ADOS National Guard/Reserve Component Soldiers, DoD civilian employees and installation visitors.

Associate golf passes available
Fort Belvoir Golf Club offers the chance to become affiliated with the “Flagship Golf Facility” of the U.S. Army through the Associate Pass Holder program. It is a great way to get many of the benefits of being a member of a golf club, without the upfront costs involved.
